Alive 2.1.5

Yay, 2.1.5 is out, here are the changes:
  • The front page now doesn't display the greeting banner any more when you are logged in.
  • We added the access key "F" for firing up some content.
  • The back end that scales down phots is more robust now and should result in your photos getting into Alive much faster.
  • The SSO server now uses a certificate signed by the Assembly CA.
  • We started playing around with the balance of how many heat points are given to users and how many are required to reach hotness status etc. We now reduced the points we give away to 1 point every 2 minutes, instead of 2 points per minute.
The next update is on it's way, but this time we'll take it a bit slower and actually try to enjoy the party. See you around!

How about making timestamps visible on search result lists? Sorting by timestamp would also make finding new stuff more useful, as would hot points on the lists as well...

Right. We thought about that. For now, we preferred to keep them out of there.

Alive currently has two kinds of listings:

- Tiles
- Items

Tiles allow us to return results from different types of content (blog entries, videos, photos) in a mixed listing without cluttering up the screen space too much. The item listings could probably benefit from displaying the time. We'll think about that for Alive 2.1.7 (should be around later this afternoon).

About sorting: There are two listings that sort by time: the "current" and the "all". Both sort increasing, meaning from older to newer. All shows all the matching content ever put in, "current" only shows content from the last 30 minutes and later (e.g. events that are in the future).
